This is a wonderful grill and maker of panini.It works wonderfully well. Is easy to use andand clean. An appliance anyone would like. The instuctions are well laid out.Received in a timely manner and would buy again.
After paying over $100 for this unit (at Williams Sonoma) I am very dissapointed that the unit has failed after just over 1 year. The symptoms I see are different than most of the complaints I see here. On my unit, it keeps tripping the circuit breaker as soon as I plug it in.While it worked, I was very happy with the results and it was easy to clean.I don't mind paying more for a premium product which was what I thought I was getting. Sadly, I need to replace this and it won't be another Krups unit.
Surprised Krups hasn't found a fix. Great product until it unexpectedly stops working. Apparently this is a well known and documented problem. Tried to have it repaired but the estimate came to $72.98 not including the postage to get it to the repair center. Feel guilty wasting all of that cast iron, I hope the repair center melts it down for recycling.
It cooks on both sides, it doesn't allow meats to splatter greases while cooking. I've love mine. I use it for anything from sandwiches to steak. I've even used mine for vegetables. I don't mind that it doesn't have controls, the only thing I don't like is not being able to take off the grill surfaces to clean but on the other hand I hear the ones that do don't cook as well.
This press works great.engineering needs to re-think the latch mechanism.does not work very well. Note to consumers.unlatch before pre-heating.
