Additional Krups FDE312-75 Universal Grill and Panini Maker Information
|
Grilling burgers, chicken, fish, steaks, and Italian-style sandwiches (panini) with no fuss or mess is easy with this handsome, chrome-clad, countertop grill. The top and bottom grilling plates make cooking twice as fast as in a pan, impart appetizing grill marks, and, with their nonstick coating, release food easily and wipe clean with a cloth. Key to the grill's professional performance is a floating hinge system that automatically adjusts to a food's thickness for even grilling top and bottom. The grill's handle stays cool during operating, indicator lights show when the grill is on and when the proper cooking temperature has been reached, and the latch locks for compact, upright storage. The grill carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

What Customers Say About Krups FDE312-75 Universal Grill and Panini Maker:

This press works great.engineering needs to re-think the latch mechanism.does not work very well. Note to consumers.unlatch before pre-heating.
Though I love how this grill cooks, it is an absolute pain in the butt to clean. If they made this unit with a detachable cooking surface, it would be much better. Since the grill part does not detach, the unit cannot be washed in the sink. This makes clean up of scorched cheese or onions or anything with a sugar in it very very hard to clean. We love chicken or turkey burgers and this grill cooks them fast and even and never dry. But I HATE THE CLEAN UP THIS THING.
It worked great for about a month and then just quit. I sent it into Krups for repair. They sent it back and it worked great for another month and then it quit again. It's an expensive piece of JUNK.
Sadly I have joined the ranks of being greatly disappointed with this appliance. Judging from the reviews I've read I'm equally astounded at how unconcerned Krups seems to be about the quality of their product. I've used this grill at the most 10 times and now it's dead. An expensive piece of junk. Well they have lost me as a customer. Thanks Wayne for the repair tips-now I need to find someone to follow your instructions.
It is fast & chars the meat well. It was said that this grill heated fast & browned well. We bought this grill after reading a review in COOKS COUNTRY. Because it can't be immersed in water it is somewhat difficult but not impossible to clean. It does that and more. We use it to grill meat mostly. I wipe it out with paper towels & then use a plastic scrub brush on it & rinse with a wet sponge. For its intended use, Paninis, it's tops---quick & easy.
